“Stay at home” is the only weapon with which mankind can fight the deadly Corona Virus. Today marks the 27th day of the nationwide lockdown. People are getting restless but still trying hard to be patient.
Amidst this lockdown phase, summer approaches and so are cravings. With limited resources and off course time ( as we have to do all domestic chores by ourselves!) managing cravings is really tough.
For the last few days I was feeling like having fruit based icecreams. The feeling was so intense that I had googled and youtubed a 100 easy icecream recipes. Some were having difficult ingredients (which cannot be procured now) and some were too time consuming. Finally I have something satisfying which could be made with ready ingredients within 5 minutes! Well, not exactly 5 minutes if you consider the time to make frozen bananas 🙂
Ingredients for IceCream
1. 2-3 ripe bananas frozen for at least 15 hrs
2. Thick curd 400 gm
3. Sugar 1/2 cup
4. Essence (Vanilla, pineapple)
5. Cocoa powder (optional)
6. Custard Powder (optional)
7. Cashews and Raisins for garnish
Chop the frozen bananas. In a mixer jar add the curd, sugar, bananas and any 1 kind of essence. I have divided the banana and curd in 3 sections. In the first lot I added pineapple essence and run the mixer for around 30 seconds. For the second lot, I added 1 teaspoon of custard powder with vanilla essence and in the third one I added 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder. Ta da… instant Icecream is ready to serve. Garnish with raisins, nuts or tutti fruity…
Tip: chop the bananas into slices and then freeze them!
