Behrouz Biryani

My experience with Behrouz Biryani…

 I received a call from Behrouz who wanted to deliver a Free Biryani Parcel to me so that I can write about them. The Delivery boy punctually handed over the box at my residence at the said time. I was expecting a note or something which would say what exactly contained in the parcel. But there was none.
The packaging was excellent and looked very royal. A brilliant logo they have I must say. I Googled a bit about Behrouz and came to know it serves authentic Awadh style Biryani and my mouth watered! As I unboxed, I found chicken biryani, pudina raita and salaan in it. The quantity provided was a little more for one person and a little less for two. So, my husband ordered another one from the same outlet as we were expecting a friend as well for dinner. While placing the order we came to know that Biryanis come in sizes- Regular, King Size and Kilo Biryani. So we ordered a King Size Mutton Biryani which costed us 600 bucks. Again this time, the delivery was on time.

I was a bit taken aback when I saw that the quantity of Mutton Biryani  that I received for the king size, was the same as that of the free one. This means one needs to order 2 King Sizes for serving 3 people. The Biryani aroma filled the room as we filled our plates.
Both Biryanis were a bit sweeter than normal. It had excellent flavour. We were not much happy with the mutton Biryani as the rice was a little over cooked and lacked taste. The mutton was though cooked perfect. The chicken Biryani was much better than the mutton version. But still what I personally feel is that it could have been much better. Nothing specific to mention about the Raita and the Salaan. The package also had a small sachet of mouth freshener which is very thoughtful of Behrouz:)

Overall Verdict: Though the packaging and punctuality increased my expectations, the food did not live up to it. A very high price point also could not be justified from my experience with Behrouz. I therefore settle to give a 3 rating overall.
